Barefoot

It's true.
In the house, I don't wear shoes.
We laugh about how many times I have been barefoot and pregnant.

Being barefoot outside is a totally different story.
At my home, we have really nasty, sharp rocks in a lot of places.
They seriously hurt when you step on them shoeless.
I wince in pain if I ever choose to make a run to the van without my trusty shoes on...and that is like 18 inches from the door.

For my children, (the Amazing Barefoot Wonders) however, those sharp rocks do nothing to slow them down.
Even if they go out with shoes on, before too much time elapses, they are, most certainly, barefoot.
It's one of those crazy abilities I guess we lose as we get older.
"THE ABILITY TO WALK ON ANYTHING, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE SHALL BE BESTOWED UPON YOU FROM THE AGE OF ONE YEAR UNTIL YOU REACH THE AGE OF 25. AT THAT TIME, YOUR FEET WILL RETURN TO THEIR BABYLIKE SOFTNESS."

Do you remember running around sans shoes when you were younger?
Do you still?

I hate to wear shoes indoors also. I'd love to run around shoe free outdoors as well, but then how would I make my kids keep their shoes on? I remember running accross the asphalt streets in thr middle of the summer back and forth to my friend's houses. I think I'd still do it if my friends lived close enough.

I am often without shoes in the house, and out sometimes too. For the last five years I can probably count the number of times I have worn socks (other than when I am working out) on one hand. It's a bit different now. Cold!

I wish my feet would return to their babylike softness, but they're more like tanned leather now. I still go barefoot and probably will forever, and have trained up my children in the way they should go. ;)

No shoes for me!

(But I am starting to get heels that you could file your nails with on a sunny day.)

My shoes are never on indoors. I've gotten better outside- the grass makes my feet itch, though. Perry hates our driveway- the only thing that bothers me are those darn pokey balls from the trees. I remember running back and forth to my friends' houses, and whether over hot-enough-to-fry-an-egg asphalt or through the field where the cactus and other prickly things grew, putting shoes on never crossed my mind.

I remember no shoes from my childhood. Many a stubbed and bleeding big toe, but no shoes. I am shoeless today, and my chillens are as well, even on the bark at the playground (shudder).

In the summer I run barefoot inside and out. We have a lot of soft grass. But, I know what you mean...my feet can no way take the abuse it did as a child.

I couldn't go anywhere without shoes when I was younger. I even wore socks to bed!
Since marrying my hubby I've ditched the shoes (and bedtime socks) and have embraced the shoe-less bliss! (Although, I don't go shoeless outside unless it's absolutely necessary!)I'm only ever "barefooted" when it's summer, and the floors inside are warm! :)
