RSP

Today I was called as the Relief Society President for our ward here in New Mexico.
I'm not sure what that means for my blog just yet.
I just thought you would like to know.

Wow Kris, it would seem that you've been blessed in much the same way as my mother was when Pat and Perry were less than a year old. It is a tribute to you, and the inspiration that you must be to the Sisters in your ward that such a weighty calling would come to you at a time in your life when it could seem that your plate is already overflowing with things to do, people who need you, and fewer hours and less energy than you need to get it all done.

You are a wise soul, and I know that you are also very much in tune with the Spirit. The Lord will surely sustain you, and bless you with sufficient time and energy for your needs. You certainly have all the qualities of character and skills of leadership and organization to be wonderful in the calling.

I will however, pray for you, that you will be strengthened will all that you need. I'm sure that your family will be there to support you, and they will share in the blessings that come from being in the Service of the Lord.

We (my family) love you, and congratulate you on the calling.

OH WOW!!! I know it will be a BIG calling, but I know you will do a wonderful job! You have a way about you that makes everyone around you feel loved and that is an ESSENTIAL quality, I think, that every RS president needs. Best wishes!

I know what it means for your blog. Green carrot jello tributes and centerpiece pictures.

; ) Okay, just kidding (kind of). You're amazing!! You always have been, and always will be, and I'm reminded all the time just how wise Heavenly Father is. We might think he's got a crazed sense of humor sometimes, but your heart is one of the biggest, kindest, and wisest I know of.
You will continue to do amazing things with the Lord and your family by your side. Have fun with it as much as possible...and don't overdose on the jello, no matter how tempting.

Well, look at the up side here, you know your DH can't be called to be Bishop while you are RSP... And if it ever gets too hard you could always move to Georgia! ;o)

You will be great!

Ooh, Becca, I hadn't thought about the centerpiece pictures. I want to see Kris wielding a chainsaw, baby strapped on her back, carving a block of ice.

Kris,
I can't think of any one better suited for this calling. You already have the Solomanlike- motherly wisdom of an old soul. I know you, your family and your ward will be greatly blessed.
